Our Fidelity and Surety group is perhaps the largest such group in the New York-New Jersey area. Among the partners in this group, Armen Shahinian is a former Chair and Adam Friedman is a current Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section's Fidelity & Surety Law Committee, and Mr. Shahinian and James Ferrucci former Chairs of the New Jersey State Bar Association's Fidelity and Surety Law Committee. The lawyers in the surety group work closely with our attorneys practicing in the related fields of real estate, construction litigation, finance and bankruptcy.

Surety claims are handled from inception through workout and focus on:

• Litigation arising from defaults by bonded contractors
• Contract surety claims, analysis, review, negotiations and documentation, including reprocurements, contractor financing and analysis of options available to mitigate damages
• Analysis of payment bond claims and negotiating or litigating such claims
• Litigation of surety's subrogation rights to contract balances, construction trust fund claims and claims against architects and accountants
• Litigation to enforce surety's indemnification and exoneration claims
• Liaison work with outside accountants, construction consultants, in-house claims counsel and claims managers

In the area of Fidelity Law, Wolff & Samson:

• Investigates, provides coverage analysis and defends claims brought under financial institution and fiduciary bonds and commercial crime coverage including check and securities forgery and fiduciary and employee dishonesty claims
• Litigates subrogation claims
• Liason work with investigators, accountants, in-house claims counsel and claims managers
